The Manchester School District is required under state and federal law to administer an English language proficiency (ELP) assessment to all students identified as Multilingual Learners (MLs) every year. The test measures English skills across the four language domains: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The results help us to monitor the progress of our ML students as they develop English proficiency. Teachers and administrators use this information to plan for instruction and to make improvements to the English Language Development (ELD) program.
All Parkside ML students will complete the WIDA ACCESS test between 1/26 and 2/20. All MLs, including those who have opted out of ML services, are required to take this test.
