First Day of School 9/6/16 Principal's Memo

posted Sep 6, 2016, 12:00 PM by Stacey Rust-Belforti

Dear Parents, Guardians and Members of the Parkside Community,

Today was simply a terrific day.  Your children came to school ready to learn and get engaged in the new year.  One of the early indicators of how the day will go is how quickly students are able to get schedules in their hands and be in their first class.  We allowed students into the building at 7:30 a.m.  By 7:45 a.m. all students had a schedule and were in their first class.  We allot until 8:00 a.m. for this process.  It is going to be a good day when it is done quickly and it certainly was.  Even our 6th graders who are our newest and least experienced students were completely on their way to class by 7:41 a.m.  Congratulations to students and staff for getting right underway.

In each class today, your child was asked to be involved in learning activity.  We will space the introductory rules material and other like stuff over the next several days.  Please ask your child what he/she learned in each class today.  Make it a point to have this discussion with them each and every day.

In addition, please ask your child to see his/her agenda book.  Any assignments or other needs should be written there for you to see.  Again, this is something you should check every day.

Picture day is Thursday.  Your child should come home with the picture form.  All students will have their picture taken and you may order additional copies of photos.

Again, you can be proud of the day your child had today.  Keep up the support and caring about their future.

With Parkside Pride
